Parisian fashion house Officine Générale is opening its first-ever UK store in London. The brand will move into a 730sq ft store at 79 Beak Street, Soho, on a 15-year lease. The building it’s moving into is also a Grade II-listed one, having previously being occupied by John Wilkes Gun Makers from 1925 until 2003, when it became contemporary art gallery Riflemaker
John Lewis’ tradesmen service program it set to expand into six other cities as part of the next trial phase. The department store chain’s Home Solutions service has already been trialled in Milton Keynes and from September 12 it will be available in Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Gloucester and Taunton.
Retail has been highlighted as the worst industry in terms of securing its payment systems from hacking threats, with nearly half of all companies failing to meet industry requirements. According to a new study from Verizon, 45 per cent of all companies leave their payment systems vulnerable to cyber-attacks, failing to scan systems for vulnerabilities and not encrypting their data. This puts them at risk of not being able to receive card payments as they fall out of compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) rules.
Luxury watch maker and retailer Tag Heuer has made its regional debut in Sheffield, opening up a new boutique store in Meadowhall shopping centre. The 1820sq ft store is located next to Goldsmiths and opposite Reiss, and sells its signature range of high-end Swiss watches, eyewear, leather goods and accessories. Many of Tag Heuer’s special edition watches in collaboration with world-famous athletes are available at the new Meadowhall store.
