Waitrose has announced it would lower the price of women’s sanitary products by five per cent to effectively remove the “tampon tax” for customers. Set to be rolled out from this week, this initiative will improve affordability for customers and will cover 97 products, including both branded and own-label goods available in Waitrose stores and online. Waitrose has become the second grocer to cover the tampon tax on their products, with Tesco announcing a similar initiative less than two weeks ago.
