Footfall drops for third consecutive month

High street footfall was in decline for a third consecutive month throughout September, as businesses struggle to find the funds to invest in their store propositions. According to Springboard and the British Retail Consortium (BRC) footfall dropped 1.2 per cent in the five weeks to September 30, matching Augusts decline as well as the three-month average, but coming markedly below the yearly average of -0.4 per cent. The high bore the brunt once again seeing a 2.2 per cent decline, down on the 2.6 per cent decline seen a month earlier.
