Dixons Carphone has reported slump in annual profit, but said this was expected and that it would take time to turnaround the company’s performance in a tough market. The trading update for the financial year ending April 28 also comes one week after the electronics giant came clean about a major cyber attack.
Dixons Carphone said an ongoing investigation indicated there was an attempt to compromise 5.9 million payment cards.
The US-based parent company of health and beauty retailer Boots has announced the appointment of James Kehoe as its new executive vice president and global chief financial officer. Recently chief financial officer and board director of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, Kehoe will succeed George Fairweather, who has served as Walgreens Boots Alliance global chief financial officer since February 2015

Dunelm has appointed Nick Wilkinson as its new chief executive after John Browett stepped down from the role earlier this year for “personal reasons”. Wilkinson, who will begin his role with the home and furniture retailer in February, previously had the top job at Evans Cycles for five years
