UK-based miniature war-game retailer Games Workshop has continued the stellar growth seen in its last financial year through to its first quarter. In a trading update the retailer announced its profits and sales for the first quarter were “well above the same period in the prior year”.
Fashion retailer New Look has revealed its latest results posting a “disappointing quarter of trading” in what it called a difficult market. In the three months to June 24 New Look saw underlying operating profits dive 60.3 per cent to £12.1 million. It also posted losses of £15.2 million on a bottom line basis, against a £5.8 million profit a year prior.
AO World warns of looming challenges despite Q1 growth
Ahead of its annual general meeting (AGM) today, AO World has revealed rising sales in its first quarter. The online electricals retailer posted a 6.2 per cent rise in UK sales in the quarter to June 30. Revenues from third-party websites and third-party logistics sales also rose by 2.5 per cent.
